As a resident, business owner, employer, tax-payer or student of Bastrop County, I am writing you in support of the Central Texas Airport Project. Bastrop County residents need new economic development projects that can stimulate our local economy, create new tax base, employment and educational opportunities for a large and diverse base of its citizens. For over ten years, both the Federal Aviation Administration and Texas Department of Transportation have established the need for and conducted efforts to construct a new general aviation reliever airport for the central Texas region. Those efforts have not yet been successful. However, the Central Texas Airport offers a privately funded, developed and operated airport to address the general aviation needs of the central Texas air transportation system. The Central Texas Airport will be open to public use with privately imposed restrictions to maximize compatibility of the airport’s operations for business and community interests. I request that you assist and support the developers in their efforts to build the Central Texas Airport. I offer my support for this important economic development initiative and ask you to do the same, for the best interests of the Bastrop community.
